Sania and Shoaib Become First Indo-Pak Sports Couple

Sania and Shoaib are now the first Indo-Pak sports couple. There may be more in the making but we are not sure so we can’t write about them here.

The celebrity wedding between Indian tennis star Sania Mirza and Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik took place today. The two families had advanced the much hyped marriage by three days.

Originally, the marriage was to take place on April 15 although stories on the re-scheduling of the marriage kept popping up in the Indo-Pak media.
The wedding ceremony reportedly took place at Taj Krishna in Hyderabad today.

Sania’s spokesperson Rucha Nayak gave details on the outfits the Indo-Pak sports couple wore for the nikah. “Sania will be wearing a red saree that her mother had worn 25 years ago for her own nikah. Shoaib will be wearing a black sherwani which was made by Shantanu and Nikhil,” Nayak said.

The ‘Mehandi’ is scheduled for tomorrow, Sangeet on April 14 and reception will be held on April 15 as scheduled, Sania’s spokeswoman Nayak said.
